Project Life: May 19th - 25th

Yet another creative week! I was so thrilled to purchase my Blush Edition at Hobby Lobby last week that I had to do a Blush layout this week...duh! So It was really nice to be able to hand write my journaling. As I've said in past posts, I prefer printing out all journaling through PSE. But it was so much quicker being able to just jot it down. The only down side to hand writing... I can't write as much! On Friday I could have written twice as much! So I think I may change that card to a bi-fold card. So this week I did not do any fancy creative journal cards. I loved the simplicity of the Blush cards, so I kept it simple. I used a few Doodlebug stickers for the date. I download Cathy Z's templates for the Sunday 4 x 6 card {This Sunday Story}. I am in love with her style. You can get it  here!

I also used an Ali Edwards overlay on Thursday's photo of my new hydrangea plant I just bought. I used my olloclip on my iphone5 to get that picture...it amazes me that a phone can take such beautiful pictures! I also added a bit of washi tape to a few of the journaling cards.

On the personal side this week: we started our veggie garden, my son & I did a bit of summer shopping, and I finally worked on my Heidi Swapp memory file book! I am going to do an entire post about that this week...hopefully. And we had a full day of outings with friends on Friday. It was a good week. Hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! I will be working on Monday : (

Project Life: Weeks 19 & 20

Week 19, I stepped it up a bit. Sunday we had a lot going on. Paulina sang in the choir, we had an awesome family day. So I used a pocket for Sunday's journaling. I put it on the outside of the page protector. The pocket is by Sn@p, Simple Stories. I journaled on 3 of Becky's cards and placed them in the pocket. This added a little interaction on the page.

The next element I added was a flip up. I love Yogurtland, and so do my girls! So I used on of their gift card sleeves. I stapled it onto the front to create a little flip up. Then under I added some letters and Doodlebug washi tape. On the other side of the gift card holder I added a journal card from Sn@p Simple Stories. And voila, a little addd interest.

I added a frame to Monday's picture of my sweet kitty Duke. It's from Cathy Zeilske. I also added some of Heidi Swapp's clear letters to my Tuesday picture.

Here is the full week spread.

I also added 2 extra pages. Design I & Design D. I had taken a lot of pictures this week and wanted to include them in my PL. A few I posted on Instagram so I kept them in the traditional square format. for Design I. The Design D pages I have are the ones that were on sale because they were not even...and boy they weren't kidding. But since I print all my pictures at home, I was able to play with the sizes.

Next is week 20, May 12-18...Mother's Day! It was an awesome Mother's Day. Another full week for Project Life. One of my presents was the fabulous Olloclip! I am so in LOVE with this gadget! It is a 3 in 1 lens for your iPhone. It has a fisheye, macro & wide angel!! I went crazy taking pictures with this all week. I am waiting for the case to come in now. The only down side is that you can not have a case on your phone : ( And I LOVE my custom case. Anywho. Used Honey for weeks 19 & 20...still in love with it. But since I was able to make it to Hobby Lobby in Easton...over an hour away..I was able to pick up a Blush Edition!!!! Yay!! It was so cool to see Project Life in the stores...on the shelf! I have been doing PL for 3 years and it really was a joy, I was so happy for Becky to have her products in Retail stores...go Becky!!
I used Design J for my instagram photos. These I took with my olloclip! LOVE! And Elsie's new app, A Beautiful Mess which you can read about here!! It added some fun elements to my pics. I used Echo Park's Journaling Accent Cards.

Here is week 20. Loving my Honey Edition...as you can tell. But next week: Blush Edition!! It is the first physical core kit I've gotten in 2 years! I gotta say: it was pretty cool to actually hold it in my hands...and it even smells good, lol! I love the smell of paper, weird, I know. Enjoy! Have an awesome week & keep crafting!

Project Life: Week 18

So as you can tell, I'm still loving the Honey Edition of Project Life!! Still in love with the colors and the style. It just plain makes me happy! This week was pretty straight forward. I used Becky's Design A pockets.  I didn't add any extra embellishments except for a flower strip on Mondays journal card. I also didn't have a lot of pictures for the week, so I didn't even use any extra pages. As I looked at a few different PL layouts from The Mom Creative Blog, I noticed many people adding their personal creative touched to their pages. I thought, "Boy, I've gotten lazy!".  And also very busy, but still, my pages are lacking my "dani" touch! So going forward, I vow (or at least I will try my best) to put a little more "umph" onto my pages! Especially since I do not scrap 12 x 12 hardly at all. And I have about a million embellishments! So there really is no excuse. So stay tuned for next week...

Project Life: Weeks 16 & 17

Last week was a crazy busy week! I did not even get to blog, yet alone link up on The Mom Creative Blog. So here I am combining the past 2 weeks. For week 16, I used a line from Simple Stories. It was called Vintage Bliss. I bought a few new lines I had found at a Scrapbook Expo in PA I had attended. Since I rarely scrap 12 x 12 anymore, and we have not ONE Scrapbook Store in our area I find it hard to by any new lines. But this one aught my eye. I hand journaled my week. I have not done this in 2 years with Project Life! It was a bit weird at first, but I loved the "vintagey" feel of the pages. I had to cut their journal cards down just a smidgen. But their date cards are a perfect 4 x 6. On the personal side, I have been working on Heidi Swapp's Memory File Adventure. that is probably the main reason I didn't blog last week. With a full time job, 3 children, the crafty time is limited! But I am in love with this project! So if you get a chance, hop on over to Heid's blog and check her out!

Week 17 might just be one of my favorites, in terms of core kit selection. I am so CRAZY about the Honey collection!!! It is by far my absolute favorite. I love the colors & the style...I love everything about it. It is a happy collection & reflects my mood this week. I had an awesome week, considering my allergies were out of control! As you can see by my Thursday post : (
On Tuesday, my daughter Paulina had her 5th grade class trip to Washington DC, where my sister lives. So she met us there for a bit.  On Wednesday we had a great family day at the Morris Arboretum in Chestnut Hill....gorgeous! So basically this week rocked, as did my choice in color selection. I may just have to stick with the Honey collection for  a few more weeks!
