Project Life: Weeks 2 & 3

So I am currently using the Olive Edition. And just as I suspected, I am tired of using the same journaling cards. So already this current week , I have infused some Seafoam. I find Olive has a lot going on, so I am having to make my pictures black & white and sometimes just colorize a specific part of the picture. This I do on my iPad, in the app Colorsplash. Anywho, to summarize the past 2 weeks: we are enjoying our last moments with Addison : ( Who will be returning back to Bloomsburg University next week. Paulina got cast as Scuttle in the school play. This is a huge achievement for her, considering she is only in 5th grade. But we all know how talented she is, so it was NO big surprise for us. My husband put one of our cats in the attic to take care of our squirrel problem. THis backfired on us in so many ways. The cat was freaked out & would not come down! He scratched Bryan, badly, causing him to shave his mustache! Now the girls have never seen him without his facial hair. Needless to say, I barely recognized him & Paulina started crying...epic FAIL! Yup, just another day in the crazy Rozinski household! Ad & Bryan went to the shooting range for some male bonding. Bryan took the girls to the Pet Expo, which was a bit disappointing, but still fun. We had a little ice storm which left our yard looking like it was dipped in crystal...so pretty! Addison finally has all his classes set for spring semester. and as usual, the girls were busy drawing their chibi & manga characters. Until next week, stay warm!!

This adorable spine label came from Cathy Z. I changed the color & viola! Love her, & its a  free download : )

This adorable template for your instagram pictures also came for the lovely Cathy Z....also a freebie. You can download it here!!

December Daily....

OK, so I am 80% done with this project. I still do not have anything for  #19-22. And I have not journaled diddley squat! Well I did journal #1. So maybe I am only 70% done.  I love the look of it and the materials I chose. But I did find it challenging to have time to complete each number in the month of December. With work, the kids activities & life in general, it was a struggle. So it will be done by this winter. But here is what I have done thus far. I have the first 5 pages on my blog entry here. that I did back in the beginning of December.

Project Life: Week 1

OLIVE EDITION>>>yay! I fell in love with this edition the moment Becky posted it. Though knowing myself, I will be using MANY different core kits this year! I am so excited that I will be able to run into a store and purchase Project Life goodies in the spring!! The first picture is of my cover page. This introduces the year. The next 2 pictures are of the first week. Most are in black & white. I love the look of this, but I love color way too much to do black & white for very long. So there are a few splashes of color.
I did everything digitally so far.  Cathy Z. had a free download New Years Day. And I love her clean lines. SO I was very excited to download & personalize all her journal cards with my "dani" style. And I love that she included labels for the spine of the binders!! Yes, thank you Cathy!! I do not think I will order anything from Amazon just yet. I am holding out for the "Honey" Collection which will be available in the spring...I wonder who is going to carry Project Life???? A.C. Moore, Michaels, Jo Anns...???? I can not wait! Here is a peek at all the new lines in the brand new Project Life Catalog. These will be coming to stores in and around May. Hope everyone has a happy, healthy, creative, New Year!

The cover page still needs a picture of Bryan & I...hopefully by next week

A Late Christmas Present

I had planned to give this to my husband Bryan on Christmas morning, but simply ran out of time. So between last night & this afternoon, I was able to complete it. I love the results!  I used the instructions from Stephanie Corfee's book: Creative Doodling & Beyond. I found the book inspiring and it got me to turn my TV off and start creating again.
* I simply got black poster board and cut it to fit my frame. (which I got 60% off at AC Moore, go me !)
*Then got a newspaper. Sad, but true, I had to actually go out and buy one...who reads a "real" newspaper anymore?? Cut it up into pieces.
*Used Mod Podge (matte finish) to place newspaper pieces in any direction and lay down on my black poster board. Being careful to leave a border.
*Then I traced my hand in the middle, Then Paulina's & Natalya's hands...so stinking cute!
*Here is where the creativity takes place. I was a bit rusty in the doodling department. I had to keep looking at Stephaine's book to guide me. Now you doodle in the hand area. I used an ultra fine tip Sharpie. Whatever you would like. I did a heart on mine, a peace sign on Paulina's & a flower on Natalya's. And just keep doodling from there.
*Then I filled in with various watercolors. This was my favorite part!
* I used some rub on letters to identify the hands & put a gem on my ring finger ( awww)
*Outline the border in various pens. I used mostly a black Sharpie & a white Sharpie.
*Pop it in a frame & voila : )

Project Life: weeks 50-52!

Can not believe that I am winding down my second year of Project Life! I am so in love with this project. These last 3 weeks went by in a blink of an eye, as usual. Between my "retail" schedule & Christmas, I feel like it went by way too quickly. But even though our Christmas Eve is a non stop family reunion, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love seeing everyone, as do the kids. So in my PL pages are Choir events, school Christmas Programs, and family traditions continued. I just took a look through my entire TWO binders of Project Life for 2012, and am so happy with the memories I've created. I am so glad I stumbled upon this project over 2 years ago. I have documented my family's day to day life & I just love it!
